Alpine Training Team

About the Program

The Alpine Training Team is perfect for young skiers who are looking to progress their skiing skills in a fun, mentor-based environment. Team members can expect to learn techniques to best prepare them for conquering the entire mountain, all while enjoying the slopes and meeting new friends.

  • The Alpine Training Team is an 8-week youth program, open to skiers age 7-13
  • The program runs Saturdays & Sundays from January 6, 2024, through March 3, 2024
    • Excluding President’s Day Weekend Feb 17 & 18
  • Skiers need to be able to turn, stop, get up unassisted, and put their own skis on to be accepted into the Alpine Training Team.
  • Children must be able to ride the chair lift by themselves or with another child.
  • Program cost: Saturday: $389 | Sunday: $369
  • Sessions will be a half day.  Students ages 7-13 may enroll in two sessions on the same day.  

Sessions:

Students will only be allowed to book one or two sessions on either Saturday or Sunday. You cannot book one session on Saturday and one session on Sunday.  This is to ensure that the maximum number of students can be accommodated.

    • Saturday  9:30AM – 12:00PM
    • Saturday  1:00PM – 3:30PM
    • Saturday Both Sessions
    • Sunday 9:30AM-12:00PM
    • Sunday 1:00PM – 3:30PM
    • Sunday Both Sessions

 

Regardless of your child’s goals, our instructors will challenge them to the limit of their skill set. Whether they are beginner or advanced skiers, this program is designed to have something to offer all junior skiers. While the Alpine Training Team is not race-focused, we will introduce participants to the basic concepts involved in ski racing.

All instructors on the roster are certified on a national level through Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA). Furthermore, our instructors take multiple training sessions throughout the season in order to stay on the cutting edge of snow sports education; all for the goal of offering your children a safe, fun, and structured learning environment.

Snowboard Training Team

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Snowboard Training Team, known as the Red Lodge Riders,  is perfect for young riders who are looking to progress their skiing skills in a fun, mentor-based environment. Team members can expect to learn techniques to best prepare them for conquering the entire mountain, all while enjoying the slopes and meeting new friends.

  • The Snowboard Training Team is an 8-week youth program, open to riders age 8-13.
  • The program runs Sunday afternoon’s from January 7, 2024 through March 3, 2024
    • Excluding President’s Day Weekend Feb 18
  • Riders need to be able to ride all green runs on heel side.
  • Riders must be able to ride the chair lift by themselves or with another child.
  • Program cost: $369
  • Session will be a half day.  

SESSIONS:

  • Sunday 1PM-3:30PM
  • Beginning January 7, 2024 through March 3, 2024
    • Excluding President’s Day Weekend Feb 18

* Lift Tickets and rental equipment are NOT included in the program.

Freestyle Training Team

The Freestyle Training Team is for young skiers and snowboarders who are looking to either begin or progress their freestyle skiing or snowboarding in a fun, mentor-based environment. Team members can expect to learn freestyle techniques that will best prepare them for conquering the terrain park and mountain, all while enjoying the slopes and meeting new friends. The Freestyle Team will use all park and natural features appropriate to the team’s skill level including, but not limited to, boxes, rails, and jumps; natural jibs and airs; and flatland maneuvers. All participants must have and wear their own well-fitting, snowsports-specific helmet.

  • The Freestyle Training Team is a multidisciplinary 8-week youth program, open to skiers and snowboarders age 7-17.
  • The program runs Saturday afternoons from January 6, 2024, through March 2, 2024, excluding President’s Day Saturday, Feb. 17.
  • Skiers must be able to comfortably ski blue groomed terrain in a parallel stance to be accepted to the team.

  • Snowboarders must be able to comfortably ride blue groomed terrain, turning both toe and heel-side to be accepted to the team.

  • Children must be able to ride the chairlift by themselves or with another child.

  • Program cost: $389

  • Sessions will be a half day, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  

Regardless of your child’s freestyle goals, our instructors will challenge them to the limit of their skill set. Whether they are intermediate or advanced on groomed terrain, this program is designed to have something to offer all junior skiers and riders with an interest in freestyle. The coaches for this team will use the most up-to-date curriculum to help your child explore the fundamental movements of freestyle skiing and riding.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS

Red Lodge Mountain chooses only the most qualified and committed instructors to work for the Freestyle Training Team. 

All instructors on the roster are Freestyle Specialists, certified at a national level through Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) or the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) to specifically teach freestyle skills. Furthermore, our instructors attend multiple training sessions per season and annually attend the Northern Rocky Mountain region’s freestyle coaches conference in order to stay on the cutting edge of snowsports education–all for the goal of offering your children a safe, fun, and structured freestyle learning environment.
