Total Archery Challenge @ Red Lodge Mountain

What:

Total Archery Challenge (TAC) is a three-day outdoor archery event that has been ongoing for more than 10 years. Each event includes up to 6 different professionally designed courses with more than 100 lifelike 3D targets to test the marksmanship of all skill levels. Archers are challenged to adjust for distances, angles and natural obstacles.

Where:

Courses will be set along the slopes and forest accessed from the Stache Express high-speed detachable chairlift and also in the Palisades area of the mountain, with archers riding the Palisades high-speed detachable lift to return to the top of the hill.

The base area and facilities at Red Lodge Mountain will be open to the public throughout the event. Archery fans can peruse more than 100 on-site vendors and enjoy food and beverages served at the Bierstube. However, the mountain will be closed to all other activities for the duration of the event.

2. Will the mountain be open to the public during the Total Archery Challenge?
No, for safety considerations, the mountain will be closed to all activities for the duration of the Total Archery Challenge running from June. 27-29, 2025. The mountain will also be CLOSED on Thursday, 6/26 for setup.

 

3. Will there be camping at Red Lodge Mountain during the Total Archery Challenge? Unfortunately not. In order to accommodate adequate parking spaces for daily attendance, Red Lodge Mountain will not be offering camping during the Total Archery Challenge. Campers should visit the Red Lodge Chamber of Commerce and other sites, including KOA for local camping and lodging options.

 

4. What is RLM’s involvement with the Total Archery Challenge?
Red Lodge Mountain serves as the host for the Total Archery Challenge. RLM Staff will operate the following:

 

  1. parking and facilities operations;
  2. food and beverage operations;
  3. lift operations;
  4. patrol and trail crew operations.
