DESCRIPTION:Ever wonder how we find out snow totals? Now you can see for yourself! Jeff Gildehaus\, Snow Ranger\, will lead the group of skiers down Tipi Trail to the Cole Creek Snotel station at the top of Paradise and give a presentation on the site’s history\, how to access information for NRCS Snotel and demonstrate manual snow sampling technique. \nMeet on the Midway Deck at 1:00 PM. Skiers need to be intermediate ability and the entire presentation will take 45 minutes to no more than an hour.  Maximum number of skiers would be 50\, there is no registration or cost.

DESCRIPTION:See how the Forest Service and Red Lodge Mountain work together to prevent fires. Drew Grimes Fuels Asst. Fire Mgt. Officer will lead a group of skiers down Lazy M stopping a various locations to discuss hazardous fuel reduction planning efforts underway with Red Lodge Mountain to deal with managing vegetation  for wildland fire planning around the ski area. \nMeet on the Midway Deck at 1:00 PM.  The program involves going on a ski run with a Forest Service employee (Ranger) to learn about what is going on the Beartooth Ranger District.  Skiers need to be intermediate ability and the entire presentation will take 45 minutes to no more than an hour.  Maximum number of skiers would be 50\, there is no registration or cost.

No training required! All you’ll need is the want to rip it\, grip it and hold on tight for the run to the finish. The race kicks off from Midway Lodge with fast downhill ski or snowboard turns as you rip down to the base area of Red Lodge Mountain. Click out of your boards and into your pedals and crank for town. It’s 6 miles of twisting downhill roads and leg screaming pavement. Before you’ll know it you be ready to embark on your final leg. This is the burn\, a 3 mile run to Red Lodge Ales. Once you’ve made it to the finish line\, you can kick up your feet\, enjoy a free beverage and know that you got the first race of the season out of the way\, no sweat!
